It was supposed to be a stretched version of the Pathfinder. A year or so later they redesigned the Pathfinder - now it is basically a shorter version of the Armada and it has similar styling, and at the same time they dropped the Pathfinder name from the larger vehicle, just calling it Armada. I think they realized it was confusing customers.
