How much does it cost to make a spare key (with the chip) for a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder?

I recently purchased a used 2000 Nissan Pathfinder and I only have one key. I am famous for losing my keys or locking my keys in the car. Does anyone know how much it will cost me if I go to a locksmith to make a spare that will start my engine and not just open the car?

It takes a Special Lock-Smith with computerized equiptment. Nissan Dealership Keys are over $45 for just the key blank then $50 or $60 to program the key to the Truck. Keyless remotes are around $100 and less online better get e couple sets of remotes and 3 or 4 keys programed and tie one onto your truck hidden some where you can get to it. AT over 100 a pop you will stop loosing keys. E-mail me… jp.hudson@sbcglobal.net if you get remotes and you want to program them yourself.
