What kind of car should I get out of these?

I am looking for something that will be good in the snow, has a good re-sell value, good gas mileage, and will be easy to work on. Also, a car that will not have a lot of car problems. Here is what I am looking at…

1995 Blazer, 4WD, 4.3L V6
1999 Jeep Cherokee, 4.0L, l6
1995 Kia Sportage, 2.0L, 4cyl, 4WD
1995 Nissan Pathfinder, 3.0L, V6
1998 Subaru Forester, 2.5L, 4cly, AWD

I originally wanted an suv, but now the subaru sounds like the clear choice. However, I have read some really bad reviews on subarus, so I am not sure what to do. The kia sportage seemed nice too, but my boyfriend said they depreciate so quickly that it would not be worth it. Any suggestions?

Well this is what I think of each car:

Kia will depcreciate, probably already has but they aren’t the greatest cars out there. It’s like buying a kirkland brand car in my opinion. Boring plain, cheap material.

Blazer, my friend owns one, it uses a lot of gas especially because you’re getting the 4.3 V6, he has the smaller engine and it still uses a lot. He had some problems with it, not sure how reliable it is but I never trusted American cars.

Cherokee uses a lot of gas too, it has a 6 cylinder engine so it wil use more than the Nissan and Subaru.

I would go with the Pathfinder or the Forester. Japanese cars are very reliable, if I had to choose between them I would take the Subaru, it is newer and nicer than the pathfinder not to mention it has the 4cylinder engine so it will use less gas than the Pathfinder. You should also consider looking into a Honda CR-V or Toyota Rav-4 they are very nice cars that come with the Japanese reliability and you can’t really go wrong getting either of those.

I would personally go for the Subaru, unless it was beat to pieces.

Wow , i did alot of research before i bought my new vehicle 12 years ago. I went with subaru. loved it so much i bought one for my wife. she loved it so much two months ago we are on our third one. So it really suprises me to hear bad reviews on them. the run forever and have very few sqeeks or problems the pathfinder jeep and blaser have bad used reliabilities per consumer reports so be careful. as for the kia. um your boiyfriend is a smart man. I’d go for that subaru anyday out of the choices you gave. stay away from that blazer for sure!!!

go american, i would stay away from the blazer though, they like to roll and get stuck, plus chevy has 4wd issues. if the jeep is 4wd, i would personally get that one. jeeps are awesome and will make it through anything. plus lots of aftermarket parts if you wanna lift it or anything.
