I have a 1992 nissan pathfinder and my front speakers are blown. I have the proper speakers to replace them with. I need help with removing the door panels. What tools will i need to remove the door panels and once they are off how do i switch the speakers. PLEASE be very specific because i dont want to ruin my car and i dont want to pay money to have someone do it.
Ok here goes, go to the auto parts store and get a repair manual for the year vehicle you have-it will help illustrate what I am going to tell you. remove the panel screws, using the correct configuration driver, if it is a phillips, or if it is a torx head, use the correct one that FITS-do not strip our the heads. While you are at the parts store, look in the ‘help’section and get a ‘handle clip removal tool’ for the make and year of your vehicle. following the illustrations in the manual, you will see that the clips that hold the handles to the door, and the panel is wedged between them, so be very careful and do not tear the fabric. take your time, depress the panel and you should do ok-not a bad idea to go to an auto-recycler to see one if it is already taken apart-this is not rocket science, but it does take a little ingenuity-good luck

These panels come off very easy…they are held in place with plastic insert clips that go into holes in the door…first remove all screws in the handle for the door pull, these may be covered with a cap and will be hard to see.then pry off panel slowly, you will see the clips I’m referring to,start at the bottom and work your way to the top.remove 3 screws holding sreaker in,unplug and install new one….simple.You will also need speaker wire harness plug if you don’t want to cut your factory harness…these are model#72-7400,made by metra, you can find these cheap on ebay.
