my pathfinder has new spark plugs ,cap, rot, fuel filter, air fiter ,pcv valve. I also ran sea foam fuel injector cleaner… But still bad gass mileage about 10mpg in town and15mpg on freeway. What do i do???
I didn’t like many of the above answers, Sorry.
You need to have the vehicle scanned asn see what the fuel trims are doing. You may have a lazy O2 sensor, or sensor out of range. The vehicle should be running at about 215 F, the Mass Air flow sensor, Coolant temp, and Intake air temp sensors need to be accurate. It needs to be checked by a professional. Also you could hace a plugged fuel filter. You do not want to use bosch plugs, or change the programming. More power equates to less fuel milage not more. What precipitaed you bad milage have you had any services done. How many miles, is the catalyst plugged a little? And most importantly, how do you drive and what king of fuel do you use. I recommend Chevron. Stay away from Arco and costco gas. To much alcohol.

Unfortunately it sounds like you’ve done everything you can. Those vehicles didn’t get much better mileage when they were brand new. They only got 17-19 mpg right off the showroom floor.

try finding an X-Calibrater. It goes into your cars computer and changes it so you get better gas mileage and more power….look it up. Its also called Xcal

Are you using genuine Nissan parts??? Was your car checked for trouble codes?? Is your thermostat and coolant in good shape. Does your engine warm up quickly and then hold a steady temp?? Check for good grounding on your fuel injectors. Make sure your battery and cables are showroom clean. Have your engine steam or chemically cleaned. WHen you are sure that everything else is fine, install a set of Bosch Platinum, single points. This will produce the best possible power and MPG’s. Make sure that your timing belt or chain is set properly. Good Luck!!!
