I saw a listing for a new 05 vehicle at a car dealership?

How can a car be 3 years old and still be new, is this common?

It is a 05 Nissan Pathfinder. It is listed as 25,270. Do you think it would be a good buy since its been sitting so long? Should I ask any particular questions about it?

I would see what a nissan pathfinder with really low miles goes for on something like KBB.com, and then ask the dealer how close to that number he can get, since that is all it is worth… and be careful of warranty. If the car was ever titled or used as a dealer demo, it will probably have what is called an "in service date" meaning warranty went into effect at that time, and after 3 years, you will have no warranty left. So, make sure you leave there with a full warranty. If you can get a BRAND NEW car for a deep discount, meaning close in value to what the same year make model is selling for, then you have a good deal.. but nowhere near what the sticker says… and yes, find out why he still has a 3 year old leftover. Since those vehicles are "floorplanned" meaning the dealer took out a loan to buy it for his inventory, the dealer long ago paid that thing off, and is out of pocket for it.. anything he gets at this point is gravy.

it probably has been used by someone at nissan as a demo and has been turned in.as long as it hasnt been titled it can be sold as new.i would not buy it as that is what a 08 goes for.

Keep in mind…If you buy it, the second you title it you have a three year old used car! which is worth one hell of a lot less than what you paid for it 30 minutes ago!

I WOULD ASK WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT AND IF IT WAS A BUY BACK.

ALSO AS STATED ABOVE BUYING THIS FOR THAT AMOUNT WOULD BE A VERY BACK IDEA BECAUSE YOU WILL LOOSE 3 YEARS OF VALUE AS SOON AS YOU DRIVE IT OFF THE LOT.

Pass on that vehicle. You are not going to get a good deal. I would never think of getting such a car.
