Hi im 16 and looking to buy a large suv or truck very soon. I need something that reliable and cheap on parts, and it needs to be able to tow and take on snow. Most likely it will be towing or carrying dirtbikes street bikes quads but should be able to tow or carry more when the case pops up. I need 4wd good mpg reliabilty and cheap parts. Brand prefiabble ford or dodge will except nissian. Also should be unders 7 gs. My ideas excursion expedition xlt pathfinder f-150.

Make sure it’s an American truck.

If you can do that, you will not have any problems.

Girly Japanese trucks aren’t design to tow or haul anything.

If you try to tow or haul with them, they’ll overheat and burn to the ground.

i’m assuming that you have all the bell housing bolts out double check one might be hiding and if automatic then are all the torque converter bolts out if not will prevent it from coming all the way back if you’re sure that you have everything possible that holds it to the block then also common problem is that its stuck to the back of the block and will need some good old fashioned muscle to free it get a large pry bar and without trying to get near the fly wheel stick it between the case and block and move the bar back and forth several times JUST MAKE SURE THE TRUCK IS ON THE LIFT/JACK SECURELY before doing this please

intermitin stating problem, more like will start when the planets are aligned perfectly. netrual safety switch not the problem can hear the relay when i move shifter(auto) hear relay under dash when i try an crank it, guessin im gettin power to engine compartment, not sure if there is a relay under the hood that would have gone bad. cant get to starter to check silenoid if getting power from the switch. ‘
any ideas or similiar problem

easy to change and most times the ingnition electrical portion (starter switch) can cause intermittent no start. Also on some old pathfinders the factory alarm system relay under the seat can be the problem. Another hair puller is voltage drops along the circuit and your going to have to get to the right side of the motor to the gray solonid plug and volt meter the starter wire to be sure. And if you have a 4×4 that starter is difficult to replace when all else fails you may end up there taking the steering idler arm off and getting really greasy (those darn valve cover leaks) should of fixed years ago.

I own a 2001 nissian pathfinder and my service engine light came on and the code read: p11 31 swirl control solenoid valve function. Does anyone know what that does? How much it costs? Or what that means? PLEASE HELP ME PEOPLE!! Thank you!

The Nissan KA engine has butterflies in the intake manifold on each cylinder intake port which induces swirl in the combustion chamber for better vaporization of the fuel/air mixture and better combustion. The butterflies are on a shaft running through the intake manifold and on the end of the manifold there is a lever (aka swirl control valve) controlling the shaft which is activated by a solenoid which is controlled by the ECM. I expect either the shaft is seized and the lever is not functioning or the SCV solenoid controlling the lever is not functioning.

Edit note: I just discovered that the 2001 Pathfinder has a VQ series V6 engine and I don’t know if it has swirl inducing butterflies in the intake manifold as the 4 cylinder KA engines do but I suppose it does if you are getting that diagnostic trouble code.
