Pathfinder is a heavy truck and not aerodynamic. Because there are manual 5 speed gear box and automatic with and with out 4 wheel drive it is hard to say what fuel mileage is going to be. 10 to 17 in town and as high as 18 to 24 on the road. 3.5 liter motor last a long time a 3.3 liter motor needs timing belts every 10 years or 90,000 miles. Servicing is key to long car truck life. For the best car check out find a Nissan technician who can preform a check out before money changes hands. Ask questions make sure your truck has all the service booklets and owners manuals. A ten year old truck is going to have some issues.

Hi, so i think im getting a 2001 pathfinder and i want to have some information about it. For example how many miles does it get on average? How many miles per gallion? Do they have any specific problems i should be aware of? Is it a good car over all? Thanks everyone

For the most part the nissan pathfinder has been a pretty good car, there were only one year I ever heard that had a lot of problems and that was the 2005 so the 01 should be good to go as long as someone has taken good car of it. Routine maintenance is the key for any car with high mileage, go to carcomplaints.com click on nissan in the blue letters to the left on the home page and scroll down to pathfinder and click on that, you will see that the 05 was a lemon but looks like the rest are still going strong. I know a lot of the nissan had an inline 4 that was a workhorse of a engine and it made good horsepower like any small motor when you wound it up it took off and got the job done, for as long as you wanted it to. As with any used car, take it to a mechanic and have a diagonstic done, and make sure you are getting a good car not some beat up hunk of junk. Never listen to the owner about how great a used car is, always trust your mechanic to back up what you were told. Go to www.samarins.com if you would like information on how to buy a car and what to look for and what to look out for, also there is a section for used car reviews. And www.nada.com has a consumer section with a price guide so you can get an idea of what one is worth when you find out the miles it has. Always be patient when looking for a good used car, find the jewel of the desert, not the rust bucket of nantucket.

just do a search on ebay for your particular vehicle and year. If your was factory installed from the dealer then just make sure the remote for sale states that it is a factory oem model and not an aftermarket model and it should work with your car. Aftermarket models are installed not by the factory and are not oem or Original Equipment Manufacturer part but installed usually by third parties either by the previous owner or chain stores like circuity city.

When searching on ebay look a the remote does it look like the one you lost? If not it is not the right one keep searching until you find one that looks exactly like it and buy that one. Make sure the remote comes with programming instructions as most of them do but not all . The seller will say this someone in the ad. Programming is super easy and varies by different brands and models. Most are just putting in the key in the ignition a certain number of times and turning the key a few times and then pressing the remote a certain way. I have done the programming for a few cars for my family and friends so I have personal first hand experience.

its 2wd and i cannot find a lift kit anywhere. i looked all over the internet. where can i find one?? please help i really want to do it. and how much will it cost? im talking suspension. but if u can find either let me know. make sure u be specific with 2001 and 2wd. but is it also possible that i can just buy a lift kit and put on it or does it have to be specifically made for the vehicle? thanks.

Nissan does not use a standard suspension as other types of vehicles do,, it uses a torsion bar suspension in the front wich you can most likely raise yourself if you get the repair manual book and you do both sides the same,, but get the book so you dont over do it,, if you look under the front of your truck you will see two big bolts or nuts i should say right at front of truck on the end of torsion bars,, and you can buy blocks to lift the rear for under 50$

Thanks!

At Nissan dealer we replace the entire set of coils that way avoid come backs and cat converter failure due to misfire. Hajin Or Hitachi are the OEM brands. Some are Gray and some are Black. Sorry that was of no help. Also replace the 6 NGK Platinum tip Spark plugs if over 90,000 miles.

I know it’s a cheap fix for me to just do it myself than to get someone at Nissan to do it for me. I’d also like to do it because I think I’m going to put a different color bulb back there, like the color blue.

Does anyone know how to do this?

for your particular car, i’m not sure, but for most cars. you just take the left side of the dash, or the instrument panel cover off. there should be bolts behind that. take those off and remove the instrument panel. behind the instrument panel the bulbs should be in plain sight. make sure you don’t mess with the rod that plugs in to the speedometer. the only tools you should need are a phillips head screw driver and socket wrenches

Remove the antennia nut on top the fender remove the inner fender protector unbolt the antenna motor now take out the glove box remove the grommet have some one wiggle the antennia feeder wire follow it up to the radio now you will learn how to remove the audio unit by taking apart the center dash stack. If your replacing just the mast you don’t have to replace the feedre cable just take the motor apart get the antennia nylon robe out of the motor’s reel. reassemble then feed in a new mast. Good Luck

i picked these cars because i want a reliable small suv that is fairly easy to find in a manual transmission. is there any others that come to mind?
the for explorer is the worst suv ever made. it is not reliable and has the worst reviews and the most mechanical problems recorded.

None of the above since none of them can come even close To Ford Explorer for quality or reliability.
