which is the best car out of these three, 1997-98 4runner, 2001 pathfinder or 2002 xterra?

i picked those years for the Nissans because i would like the more powerful engine. other than the more powerful engine are the 2000 year versions of the Nissans different than the newer versions cars any different?

i picked these cars because i want a reliable small suv that is fairly easy to find in a manual transmission. is there any others that come to mind?
the for explorer is the worst suv ever made. it is not reliable and has the worst reviews and the most mechanical problems recorded.

None of the above since none of them can come even close To Ford Explorer for quality or reliability.

There should be a plug at the bottom of the "pumpkin" (differential). Sometimes a wrench is needed or an allen wrench to remove this plug. Make sure that after it is drained to reinstall the plug and service FULLY. In order to do this, you will have to remove a similar plug about half way up the "pumpkin" and fill through that port until it begins to spill out. that spill point is the full point. I hope this helps.

Have a 2001 pathfinder 2 wheel drive and went to put it in reverse gave it more gas and got rpm’s up and then it jumped into reverse and like was jumping all the way back… can anyone please tell me if it sounds like the transmission is shot of will it cost little to fix…. like about a couple of hundred….

have you checked the fluid if its low it can give you this problem if low then fill and then look for a leak if full and smells burnt then internal problem

I bought a 2001 pathfider and I would like to disable the transponder key feature so any store bought key will work … how can I do this without wrecking any on board computer ???

the system is designed to disable the vehicle if bypass is attempted.

I own a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder with 90,000 miles on it. I have maintained it perfectly and use synthetic oil. I was curious if it would be wise to tow a 3200lb travel trailer 500 miles with it??
I know it has a 5000lb capacity, just curious about the mileage

Get an external transmission cooler installed before you do it.

Some mid-sized SUVs aren’t geared well for towing things over 3000 lbs. I’m not saying they aren’t capable of doing the job, it just isn’t gonna be as comfortable of a drive as, say, a pickup truck. Just sayin’.

Could have simply blown the fuse inside the radio I had the same problem a couple of year ago and run my self ragged trying to figure it out the whole time it was just a damn fuse.

Service engine soon! Malfunction Indicator light? That light turns on when there is a issue that could cause more emissions. Anything from a loose gas cap to a major engine repair issue. Get the code read and also ask if you can write down the freeze frame data. The auto parts store will want to sell you some parts for testing for the check engine light. But please wait then ask your question again. My pathfinder has a P0303 code what should i do about it. Could a P0303 misfire code damage my cat converter?

Has anyone ever had the experience or heard of an increase in RPM on a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE? Another words, you’re driving the truck at abount 30 mph or whatever speed and all of a sudden there is a kick in RPM and the truck takes off on its own…

Has anybody heard of this?

sounds like the transmission just changed gears all automatic transmissions do that
