2006 nissan pathfinder replacement key?

Hi,
I just bought a 2006 pathfinder and got onnly one key and one remote. My dealer Gainesville Nissan is being "difficult" and does not want to help. The GM told me that if I had caught this at the time of signing they would have cut me anohter key and programmed it, but now they dont care. I am ready to purchase a new key from them but I feel they should at least program it for me, but they refuse. Can these keys be programmed somewhere else, or only dealer?

If you bought the car brand new they are supposed to have all 3 keys and a spare remote for you.

If you bought the car used, they may only have one key and they are not required to give you a spare. It can cost up to $400 or more to cut a key and program it because you have what is called a transponder key. I know because I have been there. You need to have a new key cut and programmed. If your car is used, ask the locksmith to reprogram your original key too because there are at least 2 other keys to your car floating around somewhere. You need to have at least 2 keys at all times. You need at least 2 keys to program a third key by yourself. When you pay for the second key to be programmed, have a third one cut and program it yourself to save money.

Check out the link for programming instructions. I had to buy a second key for my truck and they did it for only $50.

if there is another GM dealership there go to it, because they show make a program at least one besides the main one for free. They are just been difficult. Are tell them you need one programed and you will pay for it it they refuse. Send a letter to GM headquarters and complain and they will tell you waht to do about it.
