According to the service department at Nissan, it will take a whole day……..and i have to have my car at the shop at 7:30 a.m for them to start on it and get it done by the time they close at 5:30 p.m. Does it really take that long and why?
more than likely yes. exhausts are a real pain to work on, the parts rust fast and often have to be cut off, or have bolts drilled out. the actual replacement of the cat is only a unbolt and bolt back on precess in a perfect world. its getting to it, getting it off, and making sure everything is leak proof that takes a while. plus im sure they are union and will require two breaks

Pfff no. Doesn’t take that long since it’s an 05. Take it somewhere else for a quote instead of the dealership. Like and exhaust shop. I’m guessing at least 1hr tops in labor. Good Luck!
